Hi,
has anyone used this website at all and how accurate was it?.
My partner wants to come off jsa and do a self employed job, I have been on the entitled to website and have done a calculation and it says we will be a fair amount better off a month.
It also says we will be entitled to housing benefit (at the moment we get full housing benefit)
It says we will have to pay a certain amount, which i knew we would have to, my question is how accurate is the prediction of what we would have to pay, I am worried about it being totally wrong and us not being able to afford the rent at all. The lady at the housing benefit place told me to go on it but I just dont see myself being that lucky that it is calculated right.
any help is much appreciated
Regards
Terri

entitledto is as accurate as the figures that are entered. If your case is pretty straightforward, it will give you a good idea of your entitlement. It only tends to go wrong when a person has an inaccurate tax credit award, has a student partner etc.
It may be easier to look at the benefits calculator on your LA's website, as this (usually) focuses just on LHA and CTB.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Hi, thanks for the reply
I think i have put everything in accuratley, and also did it once with my partner and one with my father in law! just to have a second set of eyes in case i missed something. It coems up the same everytime.
My figures are pretty straightforwars. As i know my weekly wage (it is low) and he is not a student etc we know every penny that will be comming in. That side of things I am not worried about I just wondered about the rent!
If it works out like that then I will be very happy! My council website 'calculator' is the entitled to website, they just have a habit of messing up payments every so often, so am very neervous to take the plunge!0 -
Have you checked it against the situation you are in at the moment. If you put in the details as they are at the moment and they are correct I would presume that the new way would also be correct. If not then somewhere something is slightly wrong somewhere.0

Hi,
I have just worked it out again, it all seems to be right. They guy at the benefit office also told me it was 99% accurate. Its good enough for me!0
