You would get more responses if you structured your text by putting in some full stops and paragraphs. It is very difficult to read at the moment.
    Gone ... or have I?
  • It sounds to me like you'd be able to claim Disability Living Allowance (DLA) if the depression and anxiety are impacting your day-to-day life and affecting your ability to complete simple tasks.

Apart from that I have no suggestions, sorry!
  • have treid (DLA) but had no luck but yet they medicall team said yes the team back in jobcentre looked at it and said i could do certain jobs thanks for your info

12 years ago I had a severed tendon in my right index finger and had 3 operations in a week and over 50 physiotherapy sessions, plus I carried out my own physio (as instructed) every 2 hours. I now have some limited movement in that finger and permanent damage from infection to the palm of my hand. I also have lost grip. I'm right handed too, so the injury was to my dominant hand.

I quickly learned to use my left hand more and there are plenty of devices on the market to help with grip if I need to use my right hand too. I have also learned to use thumb and middle finger instead of thumb and index finger. I certainly never think of myself as disabled, because I am not. I work full time and apart from brief intial anger at the hospital for their blunder, I moved on mentally.

Life is great, so don't let the loss of a finger ruin your life. You can be stronger than that.

BTW, a friend of mine was telling me that her taxi diver lifted her suitcases in and out of the cab and it was only when she went to pay him that she realised he only had one arm!
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

well done to you and to your friends taxi driver for not letting a missing part hinder them in any way.

OP you can get over this and will learn to adapt. At the minute it is a problem to you but please read the above posters response to you again and see it as something to work towards.

Im not saying anything derogatory to you at all....it must be hard for you and it is affecting your life right now, but it CAN get better.

I wish you the very best of luck, I really do. (need happy smily but cant find it..lol)

    Hi

If I understand your original ost correctly, you have been awarded industrial injuries disablement benefit (IIDB), probably at £28.72pw. IIDB counts as income for income support and JSA which is why your benefit was reduced.

Further bad news is that IIDB also counts as income for housing and council tax benefits so they get reduced too.

What housing benefit you get depends on the local housing allowance in your area rather than just the number of bedrooms (although the two are linked). It might be worth looking at local housing associations as rents are cheaper. There can be long waiting lists though.

If you are unfit for work you could apply for ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) which replaced incapacity benefit last year. You would be no better off until you "passed" the medical though......

    good luck.

    Phil
