Firefox toolbar items HELP!

I have been using Firefox for a few weeks and it's great, but now every time I turn my computer off I lose items from the toolbar such as favourites, history etc. Any ideas as to what the problem is?

Close down Firefox completely.
Wait a moment, then from the Start menu, click 'Run' and paste in:
firefox.exe -profilemanager and click ok.
This will launch the Profile Manager. make sure there's only one profile (called 'default') and you're not switching between profiles by mistake0 -
