Gonna try to get the last two dooyoos done by home time, although will probably post them later so they're more spread out.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Could I just bob in and ask if there is an idiots guide to Dooyoo anywhere? I've finally registered with them, but am not really sure what to do next...Mummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0

Hehe. I don't know if there are guides on the dooyoo site however basically set yourself a photo first, a lot of people won't rate a member who hasn't even bothered with a piccie. Then go to the top bar and type in a product you want to review. Write the review and post it. Make sure it is over 150 words, preferably over 300 or so as otherwise you get a lot of 'usefuls' and not so many rates in total. You can also use the top search bar to search for members. I'm Dinah93, if you add me to your circle of friends I'll subscribe to your review alert and rate all your reviews. On the left is a bar with lots of options, if you click the 'new reviews' one you can rate other peoples reviews. If you click the 'new crowns' one you can see what makes a good review which is the standard to aim for. Hope that helps in a rambling way!

How did it go with the mortgage advisor?0

They will loan us up to £117,000. which is more than the £98,000 we want at the moment. However they only do a SVR for people with less than a 30% deposit, and on their 6.05% SVR we'd be paying £631 a month, leaving us less than £200 for loan repayments. So hoping HSBC, Barclays, or the morgage broker can do something better for us!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

at least you have a starting figure to work with.
Have you been to some of the tax man owned banks. Demand you want your slice of the mortgage pie since you pay their salary0 -
Lol I haven't, will have to find out if they do morgages through brokers or only direct.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

How much extra would you need for a 30% deposit? Would it be worth it in the long run to use some of your savings and get a better mortgage rate? 6% SVR sounds a bit scary, but I'm sure there's something better out there.LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380

We'd need another £12,000 to reach 30% deposit, and that would mean not getting married since thats what our savings are for. We'd rather go elsewhere for our morgage, their rates weren't that great anyway! HSBC definiately do a 20% deposit one for 5.09%.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oh didn't realise it was that much - think I was confusing 26k with 26%, duh! Might be worth trying Cooperative Bank too? We're with them and they seem to have pretty good rates, but not sure about the size of deposit you need. I'd see what the broker says - as Lara said (I think?) it's nice having someone on board to do the groundwork for you.LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380
