Issue with Citibank Company Credit card

I am having an issue with the Citibank Credit card people.
I signed up to a business credit card 2 or 3 years ago. A year ago my company was sold and I was told my current citbank card was null and void and another new Citibank card was set up for me by my company under a new account number.

Last month I got a statement from Citiback on my old dead account number with a recent item of £80 for Card Protection. Something I don't remember asking for, but after googling it I find is a nasty practice called "implied consent". So this account has been dead for over a year and yet they have let me be charged for something they set up up for me sneakily.

I have phoned them twice and only thus far suceeded in getting a closing balance from them last month for this £80. They also tell me I need to cancel my contract with the "Merchant" I took this CCP out with. They can't tell me who this "Merchant" is.
How can they possibly let this happen on an old account??? Surely this is wrong, wrong, wrong.
