MBNA - PPI Reclaim - Advice

Hi.

I have sent a standard letter to MBNA stating I believe I was mis-sold PPI.

I have now received a letter back stating they have tried to call me to discuss my concerns raised in my letter, however they have been unsuccessful. They have requested I call them back and discuss the matter with one of their case managers.

Is it normal practice to discuss this matter over the telephone, should I call them back? I'm a little apprehensive just in case they try catching me out in some way.

Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi Lee

    If you do not want to communicate by a phone call this is fair enough, you could write back and tell them you want all correspondence in writing only.
    Ask them to refer to your original letter for the info they require, or if they require further information, you will be happy to write to them about this.


    However, it is your choice, if you do ring them, tell them you would also like them to send you a copy of the phone recordings.;)

    I wouldn't call them back. This is how it will go. They will go on and on about how they feel that all information was provided to you and you had ** days to cancel...and it's your error that you didn't..

    If you argue their decision long enough, they will go and 'consult with their supervisor' and come back with a goodwill offer that will be nowhere closer to what they owe you.

    Yada yada yada, it will be a time waste and money for you. And in the meantime, they would have recorded the whole conversation to strenghten their case. Don't do it. ;)

    Instead, as Di3004 suggested, write to them.
