Pricing Error - is it my problem???

Hi I've never used this before so I'm hoping for some luck! I placed an order and paid in full (along with a next day delivery charge) for some fabric yesterday and have been told that they quoted the wrong price and that I should now be paying double. I have an invoice with the price paid clearly written. Does this constitute a contract and are they obliged to give me the fabric?
Help!! Thanks!
Help!! Thanks!

No. They made a mistake and at this point can cancel the contract and make good your losses - i.e. give you your money back.
The only time when a sale is final is when they have the money and you are in receipt of the goods.
It is, of course, slightly more complex and depends on the contract in question but that's the basic premise.0 -
I may be an idea to have a word with Trading Standards. It doesn't seem right to me otherwise any trader can suddenly up the price.0

check the sites T&C's regarding what point forms a contract with thme
eg on the recent Amazon misprice it was the point you got a despatch email0 -

Yes, I failed to mention of course, that deliberately incorrectly pricing an item and then demanding more money is not legal. However this doesn't affect individual sales.0 -

Hi, actually a contract is an agreement which in this case you already have and fulfilled your part of the agreement by paying for the goods. The shop therefore has a legal obligation to fulfil their part of the agreement by supplying you with the goods (at the price you paid).

Completely, utterly and absolutely wrong. You maybe want to take a detailed look at the relevant laws before posting advice...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Yeah, that keeps coming up on here and people keep saying that, I don't know why..
Anyway, yes a contract does exist, and yes by not shipping the goods they are breaking that contract. However in breaking the contract they must provide a remedy and an acceptable remedy is to return all parties to the position they were in before the contract was made, i.e. give them their money back.
What they can't do is take half the money, say the price has gone up and you can't have the goods OR your money back unless you pay more. Extortion I believe that is called0 -
You must receive an email saying your order has been confirmed. If not then then your 'offer' has not been accepted."A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing." George Bernard Shaw:p0
