New Turf help please

Options
About a month ago we had a section of our garden returfed.

It has been growing well and OH has cut it on a high level a couple of times.

Yesterday he cut it on a lower level and was obviously too short - today most of the new turf has gone brownish - has he killed it  or will a good soaking bring it back?

    Hi

Yes scalping is the problem !

You`ve cutt into the aplical buds which`ll increase pathogenic attack and will limit several metabolic proceces ie photosynthesis, carbon fixation and chlorophyll production

Always leave more leaf especialy in shaded areas to compensate for the lack of light

    And

When cutting only remove 2mm of the plant at any one time !

Leave watering as it`s been very wet of late just rely on natural rainwater as we`ve had loads of late

    good luck

When we had our garden turfed we weren't allowed to walk on it let alone mow it for a couple of months. It looked like a jungle but it's been fine since.

Perhaps you should leave it to grow for a while before hubby mows it again.
Just run, run and keep on running!
