For freebies - remember freecycle

Hi All,
I've just joined, so forgive me if all you savy savers are already aware of this.
Don't forget that your local freecyle group, which you can find by going to Yahoo and looking at Yahoo Groups. It's an excellent way to get something which you may need and save you some money in the process.
Freecyle is where users either advertise for secondhand items by posting Wanted messages or Offered items (I've seen a car listed before now). If you post a Wanted message if you are lucky users from the group will reply and save you a heap of time and cash. I have been on my local site just over three months and we have been lucky enough to get a child gate, 7 litres of white paint so I could do the hallway and four full bags of clothing for our two year old daughter.
We have also Offered items such as two Moses baskets, some baby clothing and a single mirrored wardrobe.
All of the items both given and recieved were perfect condition; just surplus to requirements and it's easier and better than clogging up landfills or sorting out that single eBay listing or the freead that you are never going to get around too.
It's well worth the effort and an excellent idea that shouldn't be ruled out when trying to bag a bargin, it also makes you feel good if you know something is going to a good home. One of our Moses baskets went to a young couple for thier first baby.
Check it out, and good luck in your search.
Best Regards,
Jeff

Thanks for the warm welcome. I should have used the search, sorry still trying to find my way around this site one year on.
I have three very good excuses though... one is 7, the others 2 and the third is five months old.0 -
