Don't know about buses but Hammersmith and City underground station is very close to Kings Cross and takes you direct to Paddington west bound.

I've done Oxford Circus to Kings Cross and Paddington at different times and that's pretty easy as an alternative. Kings Cross Victoria Line to Oxford Circus then Bakerloo Line to Paddington.

Bus 205 goes from Kings Cross to Paddington. See the map to see where to get it from.
Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place
  • Forget the bus- it can be slow- great way to see London- probably not for connections.

Take the Circle or Hammersmith and City line (both stop at same platform) from Kings Cross-St Pancras.

The H+C line stops right inside the station at platforms 13 and 14 (I think!) in Paddington, just over the bridge and your in the station. Circle is in a different location to the south but still as handy.

Get the circle line, its about 4 stops and takes you directly to Paddington Station.

Paddington is a bit of a strange station in that it doesn't have a big frontage onto the street- it seems to be down the sides of a hotel instead when you are on Praed Street

I'm not sure where the 205 terminates but it goes down Eastbound Terrace and there are steps down to an access road to the station and in which is close.
