If one were to have an outstanding current account overdraft debt with Halifax and then opened an account with Lloyds, would they be able to 'take' any monies from the Lloyds account to pay for the Halifax debt?

Not yet.
But I would expect that to change in time.
If you are able to fund an account elsewhere, why not settle the debt you have?0 -
Quick answer! There's nothing i'd like better than to clear my debt with Halifax, unfortunately i have many other pressing bills and will only be earning just above minimum wage, thanks to a knee injury. I needed an account to have my wages paid into and Halifax would've took it all and that's not an option at this time.0
