Optima XL6 Alarm not working

Optimax XL6 - backlighting Microprocessor
My above alarm keypad froze after A powerdown. I tried to reset it with taking the leads off and back on on the battery and then powered up. The alarm went off for a while but got the alarm to go off after keying the alarm code . (Ps I did power up whilst the control panel lid was off, then powered down and then put lid on and the powered up!)
At present just the Power light is lit up, no Day light. all other keys on keypad are not responding.
What gone wrong ?
Is it the battery, even if battery low, with it been on mains it should work?
