Hi
I know there are a lot of threads on here about sightseeing in London, but most of them are with children, ours have grown up enough to leave at home now!
We are staying at the Travelodge in Covent Garden, and will probably go the the theatre one night. We've been in London serveral times and done Tussards, Eye, Tower of London, Thames river boat, and most of the well known touristy things.
I am now looking for something different, we don't want clubs etc, I have where we'll eat sorted out with Tesco Deals, after we'll just have a nice walk and go back to hotel.
Other than finding a bargain in a charity shop (help??) we won't be really doing much shopping-we will be in london from a Monday to Thursday-been round Harrods before, and Hamleys.
I though maybe the Bank of England Tour? Thames Barrier? I would also like a ghost walk?
Has anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

I haven't been here but my boss has and says it's good - the Old Operating Theatre Museum (near London Bridge station.) It's something different!:hello:

Your Tesco vouchers will get you a cheap deal on one of the sightseeing bus trips. If you plan your day right you can spend all day on that ticket as it gets you on the sightseeing bus (a 2.5 hour round-trip), a 1 hour river cruise and the Jack the Ripper walking tour (1.5 hours) is also included in the ticket price.
We did this back in the summer and didn't manage to get the Ripper tour done as we ran out of time, but that was because we had tickets for the Bodyworlds exhibit at the 02.0 -
If you have not been to the Science Museum, The Natural History Museum or Victoria and Albert you should give them a try.
They are all close together and are free!!! (well they were in November 2008).
You don't have to be a kid to enjoy them. In fact you can look at the things YOU want to see. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
Head to expensive areas for charity shop bargains. I especially like both Highgate and Hampstead and either of them would combine with lovely walks (and fantastic views) on Hampstead Heath.
(Islington's good as well.)
I think that most of the guided walking tours are excellent; I did a really interesting one round the Inns of Court as well ones to St Pauls and Westminster Abbey (separately!).0 -
london duck tours is excellent but not cheap, museums are a must (and all free), a walk in the parks (Regents / Kensington Gardens) if weather permits, a comedy club maybe?0

We did the Nat History with the kids a few years ago.
Would you recommend the Science Museum, hubby likes gadgets and hands on stuff? Neither of us are that interested in art.
