Is This Is A Scam?

I've just received this email.
**********************************************************

Question from bjrogers1983 ( 30)
Item: (4615976000)
This message was sent while the listing was active.
danielins ( 24) is a potential buyer.

Hi, the payment was transfered 2 weeks ago to your account...and I did't receive any answer from you...??? The item is on the way? Please respond me asap. I will report you to eBay...
*********************************************************
If it is genuine it's nothing to do with me, my username doesn't feature, I havent sold anything for weeks and the message claims to have been sent via US ebay not UK ebay.

However there are a number of odd features about it .The first being that it claims to be a message sent via ebay but has arrived only in my hotmail account, it isnt showing in my messages in my ebay. Links in the email for item don't work so I don't know what the object supposedly is. The question was supposedly sent while the item was active but seems to relate to a completed auction that has been paid for. If it's a question to me from brogers why does it state that someone called danielins is a potential buyer?

These factors combined with the fairly broken English make me wonder if it could be conspiracy rather than !!!! up. Could it be that if I follow their links I will be asked to give ebay details etc? Anyone else had one like this? Thanks

Delete it and forget about it. Hubby gets these all the time. Please remember, NEVER click on links in these types of e-mail. If its genuine you will get a copy in the My E-bay section.

I get bucket loads of these.

    Dump em.

And DONT EVER click on a link. It "can" seem duff, but download spyware, viruses, confirm email address is real for more scamming etc.

Although to be honest, the first time I ever got one of these, I clicked and completed the DUFF "ebay" login. I did realise my stupidity almost instantly and almost as quickly changed my passwords on ebay and paypal!

Thanks folks . I thought I'd had most of the regular spoof emails by now but this one was new to me. Off to delete the offending mail .

Dont forget you can forward these emails to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com. They will reply and tell you for sure if it was sent from them or a spoof (phishing)

I am sorry. I like to help people as much as possible. But sometimes you can only help so much.

Alas, if I could bottle common sense.
