well done di, i previously read that if you try to reclaim ppi first plus are putting up ure repayments, this is what is putting me off as i simply cant afford a higher repayment.
i wouldnt have thought they could put your payment up if the loan is to go back to what it was without ppi. it has to be the same apr and term. they are bu**ers for putting interest rates up though so i will be watching for that.

Yep thats true. They put my repayments up by £13 a month before they wrote to me saying they were taking the PPI off.
I think that is quite criminal really.

When you say they put your loan up £13 month, this could be when they increased everyones costs. Can I ask though as my claim is with the FOS, what response you got from them when they originally rejected your claim? I assume they did reject as they usaually do, but I need some reassurance here!

    Thanks

    Sorry just seen this.
My first contact with them was to say I wanted to cancel PPI. I soon realised that this only meant a small drop in repayments and all the interest would still stay on the loan.
I then read all the forum on here and sent a complaint for misselling in August. I heard back at the end of October saying that I had been mis sold and they would revert my loan to as if the PPI had never been arranged.
never had to go to the FOS but I did expect to and was ready for the long haul.
Just keep going. Dont give up. You may be right that everyones payments increased but it just seemed oddly coincidental.

Can I ask if they sent you a letter in between times saying that you were never misold? I got one, wrote back and like sunny girls from here, I am expecting a response from their senior management by dec 14.

I am just worried that they will disregard my claim despite how sucessful everyone else has been on here.

I received a letter saying they needed more time to look into my complaint but not saying I was never missold. It took them a good ten weeks after my complaint letter for them to fully investigate. I was expecting a letter saying I was not missold but instead I got one saying they upheld my complaint.

But...even if they do disregard the complaint Im sure when it gets to FOS they wont.

Just to make you aware though I am still awaiting my refund cheque and I received the letter saying they upheld my complaint on 30th Oct!! I have received a letter saying my monthly payments will be reducing however. When I called last week they said it would be here by Monday. So once again I will have to call them.
