Is there an EDF Rep on here that can help?
Hi
I have recently changed my supplier to EDF and have received my paperwork through with direct debit info on. I know they have set my gas direct debit to low. I did call to ask them to increase it, but they have refused? Do they want me to get into debt with them? I have come from a supplier who billed me for my exact useage so I have a fairly accurate idea of my consumption, but the person at EDF said they wouldn't review my direct debit for 6 months!! Is this correct and what can I do about it?
Thanks
Janninew

Open a high interest monthly savings account (probably about 0.1% in todays climate unfortunately) and put the balance between what you think you should pay and what they take in DD into it.
Better to have that 0.1% in your bank account than in theirs
In the words of a well known supermarket, every little helps "Now to trolling as a concept. .... Good thinking, I will set up a standing order into my savings account! Its no wonder some people get into debt though! When they come to review my direct debit in April 2010, I assume they will put my direct debit to high to pay of my debt, or can I just give them a lump sum? Gosh its all sooo confusing!!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Just been on the phone to EDF as i have just transfered and they have upped my DD from £36 to £50 straight away without fuss as mine was also too low , i suggest you give them another ring.0

Thanks, I might try again tomorrow. The lady I spoke to didn't seem interested at all, I was only on the phone with her for about 30 seconds! She just flatly refused and told me they would review in 6 months. I will try again and ask to speak to a supervisor!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

I'd say the same as Deanos, give them another ring and speak to someone else, I know when I was with EDF they were fairly good at changing the direct debit everytime I gave them a meter reading (although this was a few years ago)
Failing that as Premier says, keep hold of the money so you dont get a shock when the bill comes through, keep EDF up to date with meter readings (once a month will do) and they will adjust the DDMissing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
