What if BA strike?

We are booked to go to Orlando on 20th December for Christmas and New Year.

What happens if BA decide to strike? What do we do? :(

The honest and simple answer is thus:

You wait to be put on the next available flight.

Unite couldnt care less if they tried about your holiday, or anyone else plans. They would rather put themselves first.

In my opinion if you aren't happy in your job then leave.
  • I am also quite keen to see how this pans out. I too am due to fly with BA on 20th December. Not buying a 10 day ski lift pass if I might lose a couple of days due to flight changes!

Previous strikes caused distruption, but not an end to service - you might be lucky. I think the strikes would be sooner rather than later so christmas travel may be unaffected.

The advice/recommendation is make sure you have solid travel insurance to cover you should anything go wrong - BA should compensate you, but obviously it's better to be safe rather than sorry!

  • im booked on a flight down to Australia on 23rd December with an aim to be there for Christmas!!! However I have a friend who works for BA and she thinks the strikes could well go ahead, but there is talk of that possibly being on Mondays each week, but I am sure she isnt privvy to guaranteed information. Guess we all just have to sit tight and see what happens :(

I would be very surprised if a strike were to go ahead, even so, you are flying from LGW where they have absolutely no support for LHR crew. When similar changes were made at LGW 2 years ago, LHR didn't support so the favour will be returned.
