Travel Insurance - does it cover internal flight connections?

Hello,
I am traveling to India for a Holiday in March. My flights to India are from Manchester however I live in Aberdeen. Does anyone know if travel insurance (or a particular travel insurance) would cover my connection in the UK?
I am looking to book flights from Aberdeen to Manchester (return). I am worried that the flight back from India may be delayed and I may miss my flight from Manchester to Aberdeen, would the insurance pay out to cover the cost of another flight? The connection time I have is 1hr 50mins.
If anyone can help I would be v grateful!!!

Is this an offical connection i.e one offered by the airline or is it just two independent booking?
If the latter then are you meeting the minimum recommended connection time?
My understanding is that if it's an official connection then it's the airlines responsibility to sort you out.0 -
All policies are different. Discuss what you need with a broker, as most off the peg travel insurance wouldn't cover this problem.0

It's an independent booking. I have tried looking in all the T&C for policies that I think would be suitable - but none of them are very clear on this point!0
