  • Did this yesterday using a variety of deals....

    Michael Palin £16.00
    River Cottage Everyday £20

Receive £10 voucher when buying 2 hardback books
    -£5 off £20 spend
    -20% priv card

    Total £24.80

    Then...

    Chris Evans £14.00

    -£5 off £10 book voucher
    -20% priv card

then used the £10 voucher to pay

    Total -£2.80

    Overall for 3 hardbacks = £22 :j

The poor boy at the checkout was very sweet but I had to go through it step by step with him but it all worked out.

It says expiry of card is 31st Jan 2010.

He also gave me 2 more £5 off £20 spend vouchers.

    Hello,

As I have posted above, we did this offer the other day at Crystal Peaks store in Sheffield. We went to Legoland this week and tried to do the same deal in the Leatherhead Swan Shopping Centre store, but the till would not accept it.

Does anyone know if, or why (!), different branches of WH Smiths tills are different?? My kids also tried to buy Childrens books. The same range of books in Sheffield came up as 3 for 2, but were buy one get one half price in Leatherhead - strange!
  • My local WHsmith wouldnt let me have the £10 gift card when using the £5 off voucher,it did accept the 20% off,I was told i could either take the the £10 card or reduce the bill using the £5 off voucher but not both :(
I took neither, cos God loves a tryer and im gonna try a different store tomorrow:rotfl:

The £10 Giftcard offer finishes today apparently. There was an advert in yesterdays Sun and the terms and conditions said it finishes 1/11/09, but the staff in the store y/day didnt know an end date!
  • Hello. Can anyone let me know where or how can I get the 20% off reusable card please? Many thanks in advance :D
  • I think the books in the £10 gift card deal were overpriced anyway(well not overpriced as such, but most retailers reduce the RRP,most of these were selling at full RRP)I was gonna get JLS book.£14.99....but only £7.49 in Tesco,River cottage everyday £22.50,but only £9.99 at The book people.
So buying the WHsmith way wouldve cost £37.49-£10 returned in gift card=£27.99,but buying them elsewhere only costs £17.48.itl be interesting to see if they reduce the prices now the gift card offer has stopped?
I did get a realy good bargain using the £5 off and 20% discount vouchers today,3 childrens books worth £18.97 only cost me £6.38.this was a combination of,£5 off childrens books over £12 spend, and 20% off and kids books were 3 for 2.
I think all the vouchers expired today, but maybe they will send out more, join the privelidge club and they Email you deals.

It expires today, so too late now I'm afraid.
  • I agree their books are priced well over those of other retailers and I would never have bought from them, however, other retailers have my books at 9.99x 3 so this deal was cheapest at £22 otherwise I would never have used it ;)
