Credit Card Debt how best to proceed?

Hi Folks,
I have finanical probs at the moment, I have done as suggested and written to MBNA and Capital one explaining the position I am in along with enclosing a cheque for each of £10 as my first payment for the offer I was making. I sent both letters by recorded delivery.
MBNA have written back acknowledgin receipt of the letter and asking me to call, Capital One have just been phoning constantly.
I have seen that both cheques have now had the funds taken from my account. Can I see this as them agreeing to my offer of payment and request to freeze the interest?
I did eventually relent and speak to an advisor at Capital One from the collections team who surprise surprise was totally unhelpful.
Now I have seen that those payments have been taken I am not sure who best to proceed, I now know both have seen the letter and I requested communication in writing only.
Do I wait for the reply? and in dping so then the interest payments if it they haven't yet been frozen will keep mounting.
Anyone with any ideas or advice greatfully received.
Thanks

they don't have to freeze the interest
as you can't afford to make the contractual payments then there is little you can do.
its best just to continue sending the money each month and see what happens.0 -
I now know they have received my communications, Capital One have sent me letters from 3 different departments, non of whom who actually read the letter I originally sent.
Any ideas what happens if I write to ask about the CCA, or now I have already written with a financial statement etc does this negate the point of doing that?0
