I rang my local sainsbury's today to enquire about a specific toy. I didn't even ask about the sale but the lady I spoke to volunteered a bit of 'insider information'. The sale prices go live at midnight even if the store isn't open until 8am. I hope it's on-line because they have items that aren't stocked in the stores.

So does this mean you could visit a 24hour store after midnight and get the half price??? My local Sainsbury's (Newbury) closed at 6pm tonight for 1 week refurb. Was going to make the effort to get to Reading as soon as possible with 2 children in tow but would be prepared to stay up tonight and go but would be so gutted if it doesn't work and then very tired the next day!!!!!!:p Ok so now found out Reading closes at Midnight and reopens at 7am so that's not going to work!!!!

Just called my local Sainsburys and asked if they had any Lego Power Miners toys - chap came back said they had 4 sets - so I asked ever so nicely and he is putting them aside for me!!!

Hopefully they will be there, reserved just for me, at 7 in the morning and they will be half price - fingers crossed- only prob will have to take kids with me and make some excuse as to who I am buying for- seems a bit daft they are doing the sale this year in half term.

Missed out on the Tesco Lego glitch so hope and pray I get these.

Might be worth calling yr local store if you have a specific toy in mind.

    Cheers Sally
  • I agree Sally, why are they doing it in half term??? The 3 year old I can maybe distract from what's going in the trolley. The 7 year old no chance!!!
    Does seem a bit daft!
  • If i put the things i want in the basket and logg on at 1am in the morning does anyone know if the things will stay in my basket???

That's what I've done princess. Can only try :D
And if I really were an angel, I'd float over your bed
Each night a different dream of me I'd plant inside your head
And if I were an angel, I tell you what I'd do
I'd appear in a vision and I'd give my wings to you

I put some stuff in my basket this morning and it's still there now....
