Atlantic Gas & Elec - Bill from other property.

Morning all,

Over the past couple of weeks I have had Buchannan Clark and Wells contact me for an aledged bill from a previouse property I lived at.
I asked them to get copies of the bill that make up the value.

Today I recieved a copy bill from Atlantic Gas, for the protperty I lived at (2 bedroom, Highrise flat in Birmingham *gas cooker and heating*).

Could someone please explain it to me - as I realy dont think I owed them anything from when I moved and it seems a large amount compared to my parents 2 bedroom semi (electric cooker and heating)

Sorry if its a bit much but I am quite confused, and annoyed that its taken them 2years to get intouch despite only leaving the property in September 2008. (Changed Suppliers June 08)

All looks ok to me.

They brought forward an outstanding (unpaid) amount of £98.56 from 22 Nov 2007

21788 (last reading) 25516 (this reading) cost £337.19

25516 (last reading) 28549 (this reading) cost £320.55

sub total owed: £756.30

less credits:
3 payments = £150
2 payments = £116
prompt payment discount = £10.70 (not sure why you got this, but hey!)

sub total credits = £276.70

Total still owed: £756.30 - £276.70 = £479.60


Whether any of this can be offset using the 12 month back billing rule is debateable. It appears to now be in the hands of a debt collector, so presumably the bills were issued earlier and not paid. Perhaps you didn't recive them, but I suspect they were issued.

Sounds like you changed supplier, didn't pay the final bill moved house and Atlantic couldn't trace you so sold the debt on to a dca this is why it has taken so long to get in touch so I doubt you could fall into the 12 month billing code. If the readings and dates are correct you will need to pay it.
