Cat/sleep issues please help me, I'm desperate!

I have exactly the same living situation as you LilDevil, with the added annoyance that our bedroom door is on rollers, so our kitten can prise it open!!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel though, I have managed to (almost) train Lily enough so we get a full undisturbed nights sleep. She is allowed in the bedroom just before we go to sleep for cuddles and fussing, but then she is locked out and I jam the door shut, she meows and scratches, and by the sounds of it also likes throwing herself at the door too, but I just ignore it and eventually she gets the picture. It is heart breaking sometimes to hear her meows but I know it's just because she wants attention, when she has plenty of it before we sleep!

I've found that feeding her earlier than usual has helped, and then engaging in some energetic play by getting her to chase shoe strings and her favourite toy of a mouse on elastic up and down the flat, so it tires her out. I've also got a laser pen ordered for when I'm feeling lazy and don't quite fancy being as energetic as her :rotfl:

Also is she allowed into the bedroom during the day? I think the most successful idea I had was to make our bedroom off limits for Lily, she is not allowed in at any time during the day but for the 10/15 minutes before we sleep.

Thanks for your replies, I've seen that clip before and most of it is very similar to what Scarlett does (minus the baseball bat thankfully :rotfl:).

They do go in the bedroom during the day.

I tried the water pistol approach last night with a small amount of success - only disturbed me twice during the whole night, so I'll persevere with that (and feliway when I get paid) for the time being to see how it goes. DH couldn't believe I actually squirted our little girl with it!
