Would be interested to read if people think British Gas is good as I've read several posts where there is a suggestion it's not worth paying for this cover as you can just call out someone when needed, however with winter upon us I'd hate to have to wait for ages for local repair companies to come out....

Just bumping this as it's valid until end December 09.. Has anyone taken up this offer at all? Would be interested in any feedback as tempted to get some cover..

From my experience, I've spoke to a large number of customers unhappy with the service from BGAs in relation to boiler maintenance (not strictly a fair comaprrsion as happy custoemr's don't call other provider's). The most common causes of complaint have been increasing premiums on the basis of part availability being difficult yet the customer sourcing the parts quicker and cheaper than the engineers, and large delays between call out and repair.

If I remember correctly BGAS will be charging around £17.00 per month for their service if this is still the case I'm sure you cna get a bette rprice, the same level of services offered but a far better level of custoemr service elsewhere.

While I am not promoting my company here but using it as an example, we don't currently offer any free month's but still work out 10% cheaper than BGAS over the year (assuming the £17.00 is accurate) for the standard boiler maintenace only.

Mynewt who you work for because I could say all the same garbage as you that people go to BG because of bad service from other service providers.

£17.00 is the whole central heating.

SSE do it for £16.50
EON do it for between 15 - 16 per calander month.

Domestic and general im not to sure but check them aswell.

And mynewt like the rest of us who work in the industry at least put it so in your name or we could call you bias by slating other companies.
