Hi..i've come across this thread by accident and it looks brilliant..would love to give it a go for july...
for the challenge, what do you do about money off coupons / competition wins / freebee vouchers etc...do you deduct the amount off your weekly target (so if you had a spend of £50 pw and had a £1 money off voucher you'd only spend £49 and have £1 as "virtual" cash) or do you add on the vouchers etc, thus having a bigger budget without additional cash?

Ok.. this is almost definitely cheating. My desktop is well and truly dead. I have tried an engineer and 2 new bits of kit.

So I am using this month's expenses to buy a refurbished one, while I knowI have cash coming in for another 2 months. about a quarter of the price 'old' me would have spent... and I am sick with envy at b/fs shiny new order...

I guess I should write June off as well now, but am going to try and make it to payday on my remaining cash. I do use it for work, and interviews (all mine need presentations) and laptop is a little rusty to do what I need done....

..and ok, I like video games.

If I had budget for a hair shirt, I'd be in it...

 Oh Emzi - what a disappointment. Have you tried a freecycle website in your area. I am a member of my local one and they quite often offer computers to give away. We have given a couple away from work. Haven't got any spare at the mo though.

Well... these things happen. The lovely guys on the techie board tried to give it life(with me as Dr Frankenstien) and offered to come round, but they're all the wrong end of the country...

I have hit the 'order' button now! However, with some careful planning, I will be back on track in just a few weeks.. I am buying a refurbished bargain and if I do enough mileage at work, it'll cover it!

I think next month on this thread I might do the veggie almost-no-money meal planner to give myself a bit of focus and help fellow single veggies out there!

veggie -almost-no-money meal planner sounds bloody awful. Although I could quite happily live off chick pea soup if it was just me!!!

avocados and limes to make guacamole. got value pack, no idea how to ripen them (brown bag like bananas??)
It's probably too late for this to be any use, but bananas emit a chemical that makes fruit and veg ripen quicker - so if you need it to ripen, whack a bannana in with it in the fruit bowl. Obviously, if you want to keep stuff from going off - keep bannanas away from it!!!
    Hope that helps in future

Hi Ayla.. I'm an orange customer and usually do go on wednesdays, but I have a job interview tomorrow and wanted some brain 'down time' to stop me fretting tonight!
