Who offers most regular bills on internet accounts?
Can anyone tell me, which Gas and Electricity provider allows or provides the most regular bills. I am currently with nPower on one of their internet tariffs and in the past I have been with Scottish Power. On the first of each month, every month, I take my meter readings and submit them on-line. nPower however will only send me a bill every 6 months. I'd like to move to a provider who will allow me to request a bill much more frequently, indeed, if possible, every month. I'm hoping this will allow me to be much more on top of how much I owe and therefore may allow me to regulate my direct debit payment amount.
To cut a long story very short, we moved into this house just over a year ago. 6 months ago we replaced the VERY VERY inefficient boiler. I have only had 2 bills since we moved here, one covering an autumn/winter period when we had the inefficient boiler, which was massive and another which covered the spring/summer and the time when we had our new, super efficient boiler, which was a much much smaller bill. So, my consumption patern has been very irregular and I'd like a provider who calculates its bills more regularly to give both me and them a better picture as to how much I should be paying each month.
I hope people will be able to tell me their experiences of using other companies on-line facilities and their thoughts as to how often other providers will calculate bills.
Many thanks
Agg

I think it'd be a bit more Moneysaving if you just picked the cheapest tariff and then worked out your usage yourself using your meter readings. It'll only take you about 2 minutes with a spreadsheet.
That said, I do understand why you'd want monthly bills. Don't understand why everyone doesn't do it with paper free billing nowadays0 -
I have online meter reading with Scottish Power and British Gas. They email when the bill is due, but I enter the meter reading every month. One comes up with a message along the lines of your bill is not due, but we will use this information to make your bill more accurate (or words to that effect)..but it does work out your bill every month so you can keep an eye on how much you are spending.x x x0

I don't think British gas 'work out your bill every month'.
You can see the balance on your account, however that can be totally misleading. This is because if you pay by monthly DD they credit the payments to your account each month, but only bill and debit your account quarterly.
So for example I could have been, say, £50 in debit on my July 30th bill. My 3 x £100 monthly payment on 10th of each month will have been credited and if I look on-line it will show me as £250 in credit:T However on 30 Oct a quarterly bill of, say, £330 will be debited and I will be £80 in debit.:mad:0 -
sorry should clarify. I didn't make myself clear. Scottish Power does create a bill for each meter reading, British Gas gives the message this will be used to make your bill more accurate, but it does work out an average daily use chart.x x x0

I believe some companies, EON for one, will do monthly billing but I don' see the advantage. I'd carry on doing what you do and stick your money in a savings acct untill you are billed.Energy is Life, Life is Energy0
