British Gas Estimated Bill!!
I have rang BG up several times to give them the meter readings as our last bill was so high, this quarterly bill arrived this morning, estimated at £237, works out a lot for a one bedroom flat, about £79 a month!!
So we just rang them and gave another meter reading and are sending us a new bill for £127, now thats a big difference don't you think! (£110 less)
Just makes me think about all the other bills we have just paid and not bothered ringing them about, for 3 years since we have been on our flat.
We are switching over to equigas at the moment, so hopefully only one more bill left to expect from BG.

I switched from Scottish Power to BG in DEcember 2005.
My first bill, for gas, was also about 3 times as much as I expected.
Using a spread sheet I set up all the monthly readings (which I always take on the first of each month) and used their conversion formula to find out what was the difference.
It turned out that they were charging me for an imperial meter when, in fact, I have a Metric meter!
They allege that Scottish Power never told them which meter I had when I switched.
Question "What makes the difference between Imperial & Metric Meters?"
Answer "They multiply the gas meter reading by an extra 2.83, when they convert the reading to kwhours, if they think you have an Imperial meter" - Makes a hell of a difference!0
