Microwave stopped working

I have a combination microwave oven/grill/convection oven. I turned on the microwave today to heat something up and akthough it made all the right noises and the turntable went round, it didnt heat up. The convection oven and grill work fine, its just the microwave that doesnt work. Its a Daewoo model. Has anyone else had the same problem or know what the problem might be? I opened the back up and found a small 15A fuse but that checked out fine. Any help would be most appreciated, thank you.

Sounds to me like it may be that Magnatron that has failed, I had the same thing on a Neff microwave combi, I fitted a new Magnatron and it has been fine since.

I would suggest that fitting a new Magantron is not for the novice as it involves delving into the inards of the oven.

I have be servicing and reparing a variaty of elctrical equipment for the last 30 years so I did not think twice about diagnosing the fault and reparing it.

Yes as per Spire above, it'll be the magnetron, do not attempt a replace/repair unless you are a expert, Microwaves can be extremely dangerous and hold lethal voltages, get a quote for repair from a reputable appliance company, and if it's too much, replace with a new oven.

try cpc farnell, at preston for parts, they stock many replacement magnetrons.

Many thanks for the replies. I'll look for a repairer rather than try it myself, it sounds positively dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!
