can I stop my cat 'going' behind the tv?

  • Try putting a litter tray behind the tv and once she has been using it for a while move it a bit at a time until it's where you want to be. When I first got my 2 kittens, they both had favourite places to go despite being litter trained, we fixed the problem by putting litter trays in their favourite places, then slowly moving the litter trays to where we wanted them.

Dammit, I can't believe I wrote a huge long reply and then it logged me out and I lost it!
Sorry Fire Fox, I'm not good with words. What I was trying to say is that nothing had changed, it was a long time before we moved and even at the time she was perfectly happy to use the tray as well. I have one other older cat who doesn't use the tray at all. There is only one open tray that is away from food, fairly private etc and she has no problem going in it, she'll even ask to be let in to use it! We've been living here a year now and when she went behind the tv we'd been here ages. I always use the wood based litter as it doesn't smell nearly as bad as anything else I've used.
I'm not overly keen on putting a tray behind there as it would be encouraging her, I'd sooner put something there to stop her if possible. Maybe some small boxes, egg cartons etc would do the trick.
She's 3 and a half now as well so hardly a baby. She does act like one though, she's a very odd one, the older cat seems to mother her a lot and grooms her etc. She also has quite sensitive digestion.
