Hi there,
It won't affect you claiming JSA.
I was made redundant end of September and was receiving notice pay only (Less than 2 years service). Was initially told couldn't claim as was still "contracted" up until when notice ran out.
Found out 2 weeks later that this wasn't true and had to put a new claim in to include back dated JSA due to "mis direction" which is now being allowed.
Depends who you speak to at the Jobcentre imho as to what you are told but stand your ground and insist on the claim going to the BDC for them to make the decision if necessary.
Good Luck.

It will not affect JSA (contribution based) which is claimable for six months. But JSA (income based) will be affected if capital is above the applicable amount."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"

I am about to be made redundant (no savings) and will receive approx £12,400 - HOWEVER - I am six months short of finishing my trust deed and after speaking to my insolvency practitioner i have been advised that they will take the non statuatory portion leaving approx £2,900, I have been told that I qualify for CB JSA but that means i wont qualify for housing benefit or Council tax benefit. If i were able to claim income based JSA i would be eligable for these, how does that work?0
