HPI check shows finance outstanding from 2003 but I paid up!
I bought a Yaris in 2000 on 3 years finance through Toyota. I sold the car to my mother for cash in 2004. She now wants to trade this car in against a new one. The dealer told us that the Yaris has finance outstanding on it. I definitely paid the loan in full as I remember that there was a £60 final settlement fee but have no bank record of it. I have no paperwork regarding the loan as I have had a couple of cars since. I think the loan was through Lombard. Can anyone advise me what I need to do to get this sorted please?

Ask the dealer who the finance is logged as, then this will jog yer memory. Then you phone them up and tell them to release their interest.
However, also ask the dealer to tell you the date of the finance incase its nothing to do with you.0
