Hi Katykat,So, is misslawbore wrong then to say that even old style EPA are subject to supervision? I'd like to get it verified because not only do I have a registered EPA for my mother, but my OH has an unregistered as yet EPA for his mother & also we have both made our children EPA's . I dont like the idea of my kids affairs being investigated.
If you look on the OPG's website you can read a number of booklets
http://www.publicguardian.gov.uk/forms/additional-publicationsa-newsletters.htm
that set out how the OPG supervise deputies, and how they work with attorneys. Deputies are supervised.0 -

My belief is that she is wrong. There is no routine supervision, overt or covert.
Your actions as Attorney can still be investigated - but only with a court order - if an interested party complains that you are abusing your position.0 -

It costs nothing to do one, using the forms downloaded from the web site, though if you use a professional to certify that the donor has capability he may charge a fee. (not all do)
A solicitor will make a charge (probably a few £100) if he draws it up for you.
It costs £120 to register it - by 2 if you go for both property and welfare.
It can't be used until registered0
