Just to complete the timeline, at what point did you bring the issue to the attention of somebody within the MSE team?

Apparently not at all, as he or she seems to be obsessed with a time distortion problem of his or her own, having just spent three-quarters of an hour composing a new output of bile, and including a quote of a post that was deleted perhaps even longer ago.

You, yourself, may have an encyclopaedic knowledge of mobile 'phone rates but your incapacity to construct and punctuate a sentence correctly betrays your carelessness and acts as a warning to others that you lack sufficient diligence for them to be able to rely on what you state.

The fact that you get your rocks off by being serially abusive to everyone is a separate issue entirely and one that speaks crudely for itself.
    You surprise me.

Until I was unwise enough to make a brief comment that provoked an hour or two of your feverishly over-creative writing, or indeed until right now, I was unaware of any memory that we had previously encountered each other in discussion of mobile phones or any other subject.

You're not a closet BNP supporter with other AEs, are you? I'm reasonably confident that I won't have offended any others.

As you point out (in your now deleted post), your own observations are suffused with redundancy so I suggest that you stop wasting everybody else's time with them.

I assume you saved that on your first attempt at drafting a reply, at about 1 AM. I deleted my post after I noticed the removal of your previous tirade of abuse, which had certainly happened by about 11 AM.

But for the info of anyone not yet bored to tears, and as you insist on referring to my remark, here it is, recovered from cache
It seems rather redundant to have to observe that you were logged in when you made this post, and would have seen the same time setting as the author of post #2, had you been looking, and you only discovered the time shift when someone later pointed it out to you.

Why should anyone have needed to?

Some of us write a posting in stages, in between making and taking telephone calls about professional matters more important than replying to your illiterate diatribes.

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

I am unsurprised that you are ""unaware of any memory that" (sic) we have previously encountered each other (etc. ) but it' would be revealed by a search if you can be bothered to perform one. (I can't, and I have more constructive things to do – not on MSE.)

You're not a closet BNP supporter with other AEs, are you? I'm reasonably confident that I won't have offended any others.

For the record (and that's available through a search, too) I have for the BNP all the contempt that it thoroughly deserves.

I assume you saved that on your first attempt at drafting a reply, at about 1 AM.

Thanks for revealing to the world that you have system access to my drafts.

I wasn't able to post my reply to which you refer, though, because the site collapsed with yet another technical fault and an apology notice to that effect was promulgated.

I deleted my post after I noticed the removal of your previous tirade of abuse, which had certainly happened by about 11 AM.

I observe that you are aware that it was not deleted by me.

Well I'm bored to tears with you – not least because you keep amending your postings – and I've got work to do this afternoon, so I'll leave you to play with your new friend. From his previous postings, you are a match made in heaven.

    Bye, bye.

PS. On my way to logging-out, I checked my mailbox. I found this message in it.

"I have to say your response to redux earlier was superb, I even forwarded to my other half, we both agree it was a masterclass of writing."

I'll respect publicly the privacy of the person who sent it to me but since you appear to have system access to things on here I'm sure you will be able to snoop your way into my mailbox and find out.

(Whilst you're there, take a look at the identity of another person who writes to me. You will get quite a surprise. :) )

Do you not think the staff have more to do on a Sunday night than logging in and out to check whether the times are correct? No one needed to inform them, but it's surprising that throughout the lifetime of this thread (now on it's fourth day) that the ones so concerned initially chose petty arguments instead of helping out.

Er, the clocks went back on Saturday night.

By Sunday night, I imagine they'd have all logged in and out themselves.

But it still wasn't fixed for four days.

Finished mailboxing, now and about to do some work.

Feel free to play with redux in my absence; you have so much in common.

If you get too bored, you could even try teaching each other how to apostrophise correctly. ;)

  • Amazing.

I raise a question over something that I was genuinely interested to know he answer in, but it sends you off into one of your little routines.

In your excitement at the prospect of taking advantage of my post deletion, you've allowed your fabrication of a false accusation to introduce inconsistency.

What I said in the last paragraph was this (already brought back above), to which you've inadvertently left a vestigial reference:

... and that was the close of my post starting with:

So, what is it that is blindingly obvious to anyone else? My false accusations; my febrile imagination; redundancy in my powers of thought? No, I merely pointed out that the authors of posts 2 and 3 were more observant than you.

What is obvious now is that apart from claiming to be a pedant on punctuation, or boasting at length about your literary abilities, or filling the place with long tracts of virulent personal abuse and boasting about it elsewhere, you are a liar, willing to fabricate anything for the self-deluding aim of winning an argument.

Next time you want to give feedback to the people running the forum, post it in the appropriate forum, not here as a cheap excuse to show off your other favourite rant subjects such as Microsoft.

    :rotfl:

The really laughable thing about all this, though, is your belief that anybody else (except anewhope) is interested by it.

Debate it with him. I can no longer be bothered with you.

To get back to the original question vBulletin is a bit of a pain when it comes to daylight savings.

The servers internal clock tends to stay on GMT all year round and there's a manual option in the control panel to turn daylight savings time on or off for guest or new users while registered users can set their own options in the control panel - this includes the option to auto adjust for DST.

Many regular users (and the admins) of vBulletin will have it set to keep them logged in, and may never notice the fact that the time for not logged in users is incorrect - it's easy to forget theres a buried option in the control panel for people not logged in.

BTW - The best place to post observations like this is in "This Site - Questions and Suggestions" as the admin team are more likely to spot it - rather than in Techie and for what it's worth I was seeing the time correctly from the 27th onwards when not logged in.
