Reviews of Wonderland Telford please

Have any of you visited Wondeland Telford? Would you recommend it? I'm considering making a trip down there this half term. What age is it aimed at? And is everything included in the cost of the entrance fee?

I'm from Shifnal near Telford and when my DD6 was smaller we won a season ticket to Wonderland. She spent so many happy hours there that the next Summer her Grandad bought her another season ticket for her birthday. I'm pretty sure any shows, rides, indoor play etc are included in the entrance fee. It is very much for younger children, probably 6 and under. There are a selection of 'fairy tale ' houses which are sealed but you can look through the windowsand press buttons for commentary. It also has a small 'crazy golf' anda large maze. There are some dinosaurs and a 'giant'. There are three? very small fairground style rides and a 'castle' themed indoor play area which doesnt really have enough seating for the adults. In the summer there are often additional attractions like magic shows, sometimes there are special themed days like pirates and princesses ( my daughter won her prize at one of these). There are special Halloween and Christmas events. They recently built a Christmas 'village'. There are two refreshment spots, one in the castle play area and one in the teddy bear tea rooms, I think the food is ok for both quality and price but there are also picnic spaces available. I like the gift shop , it has some quirky items with lots at 'pocket money' prices. Wonderland is set in Telford Town park which features pretty good park equipment ,some of it challenging enough for older kids, a boating lake with ducks, sometimes somes fairground style rides. Watch the pesky Canada geese they can bite when tots feed them :-) There is also a big library, bowling alley and an ice rink plus a large shopping centre a short walk away so you could do Wonderland for a tiny tot and something else for an older child if necessary. You can get to Wonderland from Telford Town Centre by riding on Teddy's Train from Spencer's Shopping Mall ( a tiny addition to the main town centre). I have an emotional attachment to the place because I have so many memories of my daughter there as a toddler but I really think it's worth a go at least once if you have a child of the right age.HTH

I used to work in the Teddy Bear Tea Room in Wonderland as my first job when I left school (I grew up in Telford)

In Telford Town Park itself they have got lots of park type activities such as slides, swings and kind of a mini assault course, they sometimes also have rides like the Waltzers on the walk down to Wonderland.
