It's MOT time again
While checking out the current cert I noticed I could check the history online.
(http://www.motinfo.gov.uk if anyone is interested) Can anyone tell me a legit reason for the discrepancy in odometer readings?
Thanks
Billy

not a renault scenic by any chance...reports of dash failures on bbc watchdog, could be a replacement dash or a botched repair?I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Isn't the Scenic digital? I thought the ECU would store the milage.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
It could be legitimate although the fact the MOT which shows it is a dealer one suggests clocking.
Did you not check this prior to buying?0 -
Is it normal that the car have an MOT and failed and then 9 days later had a second MOT and the car had done exactly the same amount of miles?
I would have thought that it would have increased by at least one mile in 9 days even if it had only been in a garage having work done to it0 -

I wouldnt say this is abnormal.
In all likiehood a 2nd MOT was never done and they simply fixed the failures and issued the certificate.0 -
If the garage retained posession of the car I can understand them not rechecking the milage for the second test.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

If it's hooked up to a computer would it show the correct mileage.Anihilator wrote: »It could be legitimate although the fact the MOT which shows it is a dealer one suggests clocking.

It only cost £200 with 6 months MOT so I took a chance.
Thing is the speedo has never worked properly. (I use a Sat Nav as backup) so odometer is off a bit anyway.0 -
For £200, I wouldn't worry about the mileage. Just drive it til it drives no more.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
