Is this laptop any good?

Options
My daughter (aged 9) is wanting to buy herself a laptop.

We have been offered one for £150 but not sure if it is worth buying

The details are:-

Make - Legend
Pentium 4 mobile chip 1.7ghz
20gb
64mb ram
CD read only (not recordable and will not read or burn DVD's)
Windows XP Professional
No word processing package

Very Slow at loading

Is this a good deal or can she get one elsewhere for the same sort of price.

She wants it for the internet and games mainly

Thanks

Well with 64mb ram your not going to be able to do much, the recommened ram for windows xp to use an internet connection is at least 128mb, It dont seam right that it only has 64mb ram and 1.6 prosessor.....!

    Thanks Tom :-)

A P4 laptop for £150 isn't a bad deal. As Tom says, you'll need at LEAST 128Mb of RAM to make XP work @ anything like acceptable speed (sounds to me like some has been removed).
You can pick up a CD/DVD combo drive for about £45 which should fit the laptop & if you can get it online, https://www.crucial.com will scan your hardware for you & tell you exactly which memory you're looking for.
