Can anyone help me with some advice please?
I have a property which is four self-contained flats and we had a landlords supply fitted to cover stair lights and emergency lights.
The cost of the electirc we use each quarter is always under £2 but we can stung for over £40 in standing charges.
I know its not a great deal but the charges are crazy. The company is Northern Electric.
Can anybody tell me of a better way to save?

Hi itsakidsworld
Your best bet is to use on of the comparison sites and put in your annual usage, about 100 to 200 kWh/yr by the looks of it. This will throw up the cheapest providers, which will be the ones that don't have a standing charge. I had a quick look and some of them come up as a negative cost - they will pay you - not in the real world.
All the best

Thanks Mike,
I will do that and see what happens. I have since found out that Powergen have no standing charge but with my low usage i am not sure if they will accept me. But its a start. Maybe if I give them my own home gas/ electric they may compromise.
Thanks once again.
