Don't worry - Egg is still around plus the MBNA cards are normally free if you balance transfer when you first take out the card.
There are also plenty of ordinary 0% credit cards around, it's just the ones which let you transfer into your bank account which are in short supply.0 -

Hi Joolee
It looks like the chase credit card is american ???Proud to be a moneysaver! :cool:0 -
Chase looks that way to me too. Has someone had a direct mail suggesting otherwise?
With the credit card scam, the trick is to get the cash into your bank account once, then never give it back, just rotate it. To that extent, the game is still on.
If you have yet to get the wedge into your current account then the 2% fee takes a lot of the fun out of it. But MBNA limit their fee to £50, so if the balance is big enough, it's not massively significant.
Eg I've just been charged £50 for £15,000, which is 1/3 of 1% - not so bad.
And once you've got the dosh into a deposit account, you need never pay another BT fee.
If they start charging for card-to-card BTs, well, then the fun will be over, but I can't see that happening. Who's going to be the first credit card to try that?
A few years ago the industry threatened us with a £10 annual fee. Those companies who actually imposed it lost loads of customers and a fortune, which is why almost no cards charge annual fees any more (except by stealth for so-called low usage, typically).0 -
MBNA do charge for card to card transfers, as do Mint (now) and a couple of others. Plenty of issuers don't though.0

MBNA don't charge as long as you make your BT request when you do your application. Just done 8K myself into mY bank Account via EggRegards

Make sure you call them up and CONFIRM that there won't be a balance transfer charge, otherwise they could still slip one in
