my iva and problems

ok.. i got into loads of debt.. reaching 46k when i left my husband. i couldnt afford to repay the insallments because i wasnt working and had no money... to cut a long story short. i got a iva... i paid this ok for a year. and then i moved house. and canceled the direct debit.. this was 18 months ago.. my parents still think i am paying back the iva. and have no idea what problems i am in at the moment.. i am so scared that someone is going to come knocking on the door (i live with my parents)... should i just bite the bullet and call the company?
also i got a letter today from a company called max recovarys.. they want £1700 from me by end the month.. i have no idea what this is for??

so basically.. any advice.. please.. :o

If you are lodging with your parents they will find out sooner or later that you have a debt problem, because these things always come out. Have you spoken to the company you had the IVA with? The letter from max recoveries sounds like one of your debts has been sold on to a third party, in which case you can demand a copy of the original agreement from them - see the template letters section on the site, for CCA agreements....
I suggest you also write down your total income and expenditure with details of what you owe to whom, then contact one of the debt counselling firms recommended on here - CCCS, Payplan,National Debtline.
