From Aqua to Halifax

in Credit cards
I just got my aqua credit card and would like to plan my next move after 6 months or a year.
Many people here have been successful in getting a flyby card, which I believe is mainstream. I will try that in due course, but I wonder if Halifax will issue a new card for me based on their experience with my aqua card, issued by BOS. Is this the way I believe or am completely wrong?
Also, when the time comes for me to close the Aqua card account, do they usually offer increased limits or lower APR to stay or they just close it?
