BT Charges

In June, I moved house and had a BT Line installed at my new address. I then went ahead and had my Sky TV and Broadband installed, and at the same time, changed my line rental and telephone calls to Sky from BT.
BT then sent me a final bill, charging me for line rental and saying that I was in a contract and couldnt get out of it! I had a BT line for all of about a week and a half.
Anyone else know of this?

Yes... When you connect a BT line with BT Retail it starts a 12 month contract with BT Retail. If you transfer to Sky, you get cancellation charges. Why would BT place an order to connect a line for you if they aren't getting any business out of it? Sky could have just as easily placed an order to connect your line without BT Retail being involved they clearly just chose not to be involved.0
