Need a recipe for stewing lamb please

Have you got any dried beans or lentils in? These are especially good with lamb, especially if it's on the bone and all those flavours ooze out.
There's a delia recipe here, or a few others online if you google "lamb and lentils". I never worry too much about having the exact ingredients.....you can easily improvise with what you've got in.

Fine meal for this weather especially!!0 -
I love stewed lamb/broth...yum! Had some yesterday. You can use just about any veg, onions give a lovely flavour with carrots, swede, celery, potato, etc...try adding any herbs you have in the cupboard, bay leaf, couple of cloves or peppercorns, a couple of teaspoons of the "lazy garlic" and a stock cube or bisto, any left over booze, such as sherry or red wine and a splash of worcestershire sauce and water to top off, slow cooker is ideal...squeeze a bit of lemon juice on it before serving or some mint and yoghurt....ooh am getting hungry again...0

Thank you all for your help I am going to chuck all of it into the slow cooker and cross my fingers I have some lentils in the cupboard and some tinned canellini beans which I may add an hour before the end as they are tinned and I assume pre-cooked anyway. Will shove some lazy garlic in as well.I haven't any red wine in as I don't like it very much but will replace with a splash of worcestershire sauceI have a bottle of Mushroom essence that I may put a dollop in as well Its lovely in shepards pies so it can't do any harm in a stew.

If you haven't got wine, a little splash of vinegar works well in lamb stew, cuts through the grease and dried fuit is nice too.0

My kitchen smells divine at the moment, and the meat is falling off the bone I had some celery sticks that I chopped up as well, plus some uncooked peas which I found in the freezer. The SC is crammed full of lovely veg and garlic and some lentils apart from the Lamb I am going to leave it to cool down now and then decant some to some bowls to freeze and have some for my dinner tonight. What a great find at the back of the freezer I had forgotten about it.I think I only paid about £2.00 for it before Christmas as it was marked down A good three to four meals out of it .0
