Welcome Finance advice needed please

I've been trying to reclaim the PPI from WF, I received a letter this morning that says I did not take out the insurance, I know I did because the bloke at welcome told me that if I didn't then I wouldn't get the loan.

I was made redundant and tried to claim on the PPI and was told that because I hadn't been employed for 12 months then I could not claim. I accepted this :o I continued to make small payments agreed with Welcome and on a number of occasions the reps at the office told me how unlucky I was being only 2 weeks away from being employed 12 months (11 months 2 weeks employed then the shop shut down).

At the time I didn't question any of this because I was too stressed with a sick child in and out of hospital.

Today I received the letter saying I didn' take the PPI out and states the date of loan as being over a year after I actually took it out . I've been through all my bank statements and found the date of the actual loan payment which they gave me in cheque form. (can't find orignial paper work, moved house since).

Can anyone please advise what to do next. Hope someone can make sense of what I've written

    Hi Diane

I would request for a Subject Access Request (SAR), they have 40 days to comply and send you all they still hold on your account(s), you enclose £10 cheque or postal order payment for this request and post by recorded delivery.
The link to the template letter here:

If you can't find the account number, you should find this on bank statements, next to the monthly repayments, or if you bank online this should allow you to go back to check statements as far as 6 years, hope this helps and please keep us posted.
