Confused about benefits

My son has cerbral palsy so gets the highest level of DLA, the wife gets carers allowance. I'm having to work 50+ hour weeks for just about pay for everything at the moment. Am i missing out on any benefits or grants, my son is 2 years old.

Thanks

Daz

daz_75, if you want to repost on the Benefits board, you will be able to get some accurate advice on your question.

In the meantime, if you have a look at www.entitledto.co.uk this will give you an idea of your entitlement.

I know you can get a disability part added onto the child tax credit if you claim

if you have any adaptations made to your house I think you might be able to get some council tax relief?

Daz I'm guessing you get Child tax credits and working tax credits?
    *SIGH*
    :D
  • You could apply to the family fund if you haven't already. they give grants for things relating to your childs needs, it may take a bit of pressure off.
other than that make sure you have the disibility element of tax credits added on, your Son is on high rate DLA, he will get the higher disability premium for tax credits.

I've found out i can get cavity wall insulation for free which is good as my bills have just gone up to £250 a month, which i guess is a whole new thread in itself
