Royal Snail Mail..............

Just had a postcard back from the RM, I sent this on 12th June 2007 and it was returned 15/10/2009...

Now thats service innit?

  • I bet it got caught up in the last postal dispute and they've only just got round to sorting it. Royal Mail are saying that there are 30 million letters in the current backlog but the CWU are saying 65 million (the CWU probably hid the other 35 million from last time). ;)

You say that you received a postcard back - is this one that you sent? If so, why has it been returned?

At least the postman was working today, they could have been on strike again and you wouldn't have got it until at least next week :D:D

I think our paperboy thinks he's a postman... Only found out about Michael Jackson today :rotfl:

so it was returned because the recipient has gone away then??
  • ive listened to silly jokes all morning on my delivery and i will say again!!!!

You will miss me when i have gone and you dont get your mail delivered 6 days a week.

If you live in a rural area you will definitely not get your mail 6 days a week

Look at the rival mail company websites....... See how much they charge for a single item to deliver

If I have anything I need to send out that is important I will happily pay a rival company. I have some letters I need to post out that are quite important so i'm either considering actually driving to the offices myself or asking the drivers from work to drop them off when they're near me and going to that area in the next couple of days. Failing that I will use a courier company.

I don't want my post sat around for ages and not knowing if it's got there or got lost in the system because of strikes.

I got a phone call from the doctors yesterday morning asking if I was going to go and review a letter from my doctor to my employers or if they could just post it out. It turns out they had written to me on 30th September but I haven't yet received the letter.

Royal Mail has lost market share to rivals such as TNT and Business Post Group Plc since Britain partially opened the postal business to competition in 2003. TNT, Europe’s second- biggest parcel company and the Dutch national mail carrier, handles U.K. corporate mail and is testing a door-to-door service in Liverpool, England.

The results are encouraging, said Wells. “We’ll roll it out depending on the demands and needs of our clients in the best areas,” he said. “If anyone can do it, TNT can.”
