Rights of a repair technician

    I think the issue is the comsetic damage, rather than any mechanical damage. If she were to get it repaired elsewhere then the damaged caused by the op would still be there.
    When all said and done, the op damaged the monitor.

    But what if it is impossible to open up the monitor without causing any cosmetic damage to the plastic casing? Like some of those plastic wheel covers for automobile wheels. After 8/10 years they become extremely brittle and it is virtually impossible to detach them from the the wheels without causing any cosmetic damage.

    Then say to the customer "I cannot remove this casing without causing some cosmetic damage, is that acceptable?" and leave the choice up to them.
