Wife's mobile contract

Hi hoping someone can please help us out. My wife signed up for contract with Orange last year for 200 mins and 500 texts, the contract ran out after 18 months and she upgraded her phone, the guy who upgraded at the time said that it would be exactly the same only a different phone ie same contract. She recently received her bill and was suprised to see she'd been charged for every text message, we contacted Orange who said the original contract was a promotion adn she only gets 200 mins. We contacted the company who upgraded us and he said they would haev gone off the information at the time and they were unaware it was a promotional contract. She's now stuck in another 18 month contract at £30 a month for just 200 mins. What can i do? i cant afford to pay 17 x £30 to cancel.

Does it say it's only a promotion on the contract she signed to upgrade ?.

If it doesn't say it, then you might be able to get out of it, but if it does say it's only a promo then unfortunatley the early cancellation is the only option.

Trying to dig out her old contract tonight, i tried emailing them to send copy of original but they can only speak over telephone about it.
