broken sunroof and insurance
some lowlife put a brick through the sunroof of my mondeo. i have comp insurance with norwich union. have rang the customer centre twice. twice because they are based in india the the first person was unsure. the second person says the sunroof is not covered under windscreen cover. it will be treated as a seperate claim whose excess is £175.
are they correct?
on my policy document it says windscreen/window/sunroof is covered and will not affect the no claims bonus. However it does not say what the excess is for sunroof.
has anyone had experience with a broken sunroof and insurance

No experience of broken sunroof, but think it will be same excess as window/windscreen. Ask to speak to someone who does know about your cover.0

go to www.honestjohn.co.uk then from the left side select backroom, then discussion. Post the question there, someone will know for sure.
Btw, is there anything in the insurance small print regarding sunroofs? most likely under the windscreen section0 -
the sunroof is part of the cars glass and is covered under the windscreen cover as are all the windows, not just the windscreen. if they mess you around you get on to the onbudsman (spl) and get it sorted.

i just waited for anyone advertising in the paper who are breaking their mondeo for parts. as luck would have it a guy was passing by my car as i got out. he mentioned he blew the engine of his mondeo and breaking it for parts.
a while back some plonker broke the passenger door mirror. scrappers wanted £20 for the unit. few weeks later saw a mondeo in a garage with bits missing. got passenger and driver door mirror unit for a total sum of £20
