I don't live near a Lakeland, whilst the offer looks good, I would not want to keep ordering from Lakeland for the base 'things' are there other places where you can buy them?

I've just been reading on here (cant find thread now) but you dont have to use the sachets. There are much cheaper ways using UHT milk and a 'starter' yoghurt. Looks really simple and just as easy as sachets.

I bought one of these on Tuesday. I've wanted one for ages but couldn't justify the cost so when I was in the store and spotted them at half price I thought I'd treat myself. I also bought one box of the greek yoghurt to try.

Lots of people use 2-3 tablespoons of starter (either easiyo or live natural yoghurt) and mix it with a carton of room temperature UHT milk so I'm going to give that a go. I'll use the made up greek yoghurt as the starter.

I use an easiyo for this as follows:-

    2 tablespoons starter yogurt
    2 tablespoons dried milk powder
    UHT skimmed milk

mix all this in the inner container, fill outer container with boiling water to top of red inner baffle, insert container of yogurt, put on lid and leave for 6 to 8 hours depending on room temp.

I always strain mine through a coffee filter for a few hours, that way you get lovely thick yogurt, in fact if left to drain for 24 hours its almost like soft cheese. You can then either eat the yogurt plain or mix with pureed fruit or jam for flavour and colour.

The whey that drains off is excellent for using in home made bread or for making scones, pancakes or yorkshire pudding.

You can also make soya yogurt in them too - soya yogurt is expensive but one of my kids doesn't have dairy, it works out so much cheaper to make it with the Easyo.

It really is very simple to make either dairy or soya yog in these :)

Just the same way as normal yogurt. A cup of soya yogurt in the bottom, add UHT soya milk, shake well and pop in the Easyo flask with boiling water.

    :)
