Payment in lieu of Notice

Options
Hi there,

I got made redundant nearly 2 months ago due to the printing company I worked for going bust. My redundancy payment has all been sorted but now I'm waiting for Payment in lieu of notice. Does anyone know how long it will take for this to be processed through the redundancy payments office.

Thanks

Jo.

    Hi,

Depends how long you worked there.

1 weeks notice for every year worked so if you were there for 5 years say, the redundancy payment office wait for 5 weeks then send another form for you to fill in about what money you have received, be it JSA or salary from another job. These monies are deducted from any notice pay due.

Think it only took about 2-3 weeks after filling this form in that I got my notice pay.

    Hope this helps.

    xx

could you please tell me how long after a company goes bust you have to wait to get your wages and holiday pay? i sent the form in to the liquidator on the 2nd october to make a claim for this and was told 4-6 weeks but a friend of my husbands said it will take months. any advice would be gratefully accepted (i am not entitled to redundancy) sorry for highjacking this thread

    Hi,

Going from memory, my initial redundancy pay including wages owed/hol pay etc. took about 4-5 weeks to come through.

I was made redundant September last year and my form went in late September/early October and certainly had the money in time for Christmas. Didn't take months.

Keep checking your bank account as mine went in before I even had the letter through !!

    Good Luck.

Thanks for the info Kingy44! I worked there for 3.5 years. I got 3 weeks pay in my redundancy payment. I sent my PILON form this week (special delivery so I know they've received it!) so its useful to know I might get the money in a few weeks.

Amersall - Sorry to hear you've been made redundant recently too.
